Specialty Plastics & Fabrication (SPF) was founded in 1992 by Bruce and Joyce Bente with a vision to serve the high-tech firms in the Boise market, such as Micron and HP. At the time, these companies were forced to source their plastic products from out-of-state suppliers due to the lack of local plastic manufacturing options. Bruce and Joyce saw an opportunity to create a local company that could provide unique plastic products specifically tailored to the needs of these firms.
With over 30 years of experience in the plastics industry, Bruce’s expertise, determination, and skills were crucial in shaping SPF into a market leader. In the early years, Bruce and Joyce worked tirelessly to grow their business. Bruce focused on custom fabrication jobs, personally handling the technical side of operations, while Joyce managed the administrative responsibilities. Together, they also took on the distribution challenges, ensuring that the company provided both manufacturing and delivery services.
Today, SPF stands as the only company in the Boise market that offers a complete “one-stop shop” solution for both distribution and custom fabrication. This unique capability has allowed us to grow significantly, extending our reach far beyond the local market.
